Luxury Coastal Retreat | Wrap Around Deck w/Panoramic Ocean Views

Alta Vista

Perched high on a peaceful hillside above Pacific City, Alta Vista is a year‑round coastal retreat where elevated design, natural beauty, and quiet luxury come together. With unobstructed, west‑facing views of the Pacific Ocean, Chief Kiwanda Rock, Nestucca Bay, and the surrounding dunes and forest, this home offers an ever‑changing backdrop - from glowing sunsets and misty mornings to dramatic winter storms rolling in from the sea.

Featured in The Oregonian’s Travel Section as one of “Seven Oregon Destinations for Romantic Escapes,” Alta Vista has an undeniable appeal for couples seeking connection, but its magic extends far beyond. Girlfriend getaways, family reunions, outdoor enthusiasts, creative souls, and book lovers alike are drawn here for the same reason: this home invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly settle into the moment.

Inside, the home feels both refined and welcoming. The main living area, set on the second floor to fully embrace the views, is filled with light from walls of windows and crowned by cathedral ceilings. This is a space made for lingering - whether you’re curled up on the sofa watching storm clouds gather over the ocean, sharing conversation by the fireplace, or quietly scanning the horizon with the telescope in hopes of spotting eagles or whales. Even on rainy, wind‑swept days, the house feels warm, cozy, and deeply comforting.

The open floor plan flows naturally into a beautifully appointed kitchen designed for gathering. With ample space for multiple people to cook and prepare meals together, it’s just as perfect for a celebratory family dinner as it is for slow mornings with coffee and ocean views. Meals here often stretch longer than planned, carried by good conversation and the simple pleasure of being together in a beautiful place.

Step outside and the experience expands even further. Wraparound decks create a seamless connection to the landscape, offering quiet nooks and open vantage points that feel intentionally designed for reflection and rest. Begin your day with sunrise yoga or meditation as the coastline wakes up below you. Spend the afternoon reading a favorite book while seabirds glide past on the breeze. As evening falls, settle in with a glass of wine and watch the sky shift through layers of color as the sun dips behind the horizon. The neighborhood below is tranquil and scenic, making outdoor time feel private, restorative, and unrushed.

When it’s time to rest, the bedrooms offer true retreat‑level comfort. The upstairs primary suite features a king bed, sweeping ocean views, and a spacious en suite bath with a large walk‑in shower. An ideal sanctuary after a day outdoors. On the lower level, a king bedroom and a queen bedroom provide comfortable, quiet spaces for guests, while a small rec room with games, a TV, and a sofa bed adds flexibility for kids or casual evenings in. Thoughtfully, each room has its own thermostat, allowing everyone to set their ideal sleeping temperature for a truly restful night.

Alta Vista’s location makes it as inspiring as it is convenient. The home sits less than a mile from Pacific City’s sandy beaches, Cape Kiwanda, scenic hiking trails, tidepools, and water adventures like kayaking and fishing. The town itself offers grocery stores, coffee shops, bakeries, wine bars, and a vibrant restaurant scene featuring fresh seafood, international flavors, and a beloved local brewpub. All close enough for easy access, yet far enough away to preserve the home’s peaceful setting.

More than a vacation house, Alta Vista is a place to reconnect - with nature, with the people you love, and with yourself. Whether you arrive in summer for long beach days, in fall for quiet coastal walks, or in winter to watch powerful storms from the warmth of the living room, this is a luxury retreat designed to be enjoyed in every season. Guests return again and again, drawn by the serenity of the space, the beauty of the views, and the feeling that here, time finally slows down.
