Historic Rockaway Cottage Near 7 Miles of Beach

Easy Street Cottage

Welcome to Easy Street Cottage, a historic Rockaway Beach cottage where coastal history and simple modern comforts come together. Tucked into a quieter part of town and just blocks from the sand, this 1-bedroom, 1-bath retreat is an easygoing home base for up to four guests looking to slow down, beach-comb, and explore Oregon’s north coast.

Step inside to a cozy living area that blends original charm with relaxed, nautical touches. Kick back on the sleeper sofa after a day on the sand, warm up by the electric fireplace, and flip on cable TV or a favorite movie on the DVD player. With WiFi and board games on hand, you can mix movie nights, game tournaments, and a little scrolling or email catch-up as needed.

The fully stocked kitchen makes time at home feel easy - whether you’re cooking up dinner, prepping snacks for the beach, or putting together a simple breakfast before a ride on the historic scenic railroad. There’s plenty of space for everyday cooking, plus dishes, cookware, and basic tools so you’re not improvising.

When it’s time to wind down, the private bedroom offers a queen-size bed with soft linens and a calming, coastal feel. Drift off to sleep to the gentle background sound of Pacific waves and wake ready for another slow, salty-air morning. With the sleeper sofa in the living room, the cottage comfortably hosts up to four guests while still feeling intimate and cozy.

Outside, a private backyard extends the living space. Enjoy morning coffee at the outdoor dining table, fire up the grill for dinner, then gather around the fire pit under a sky full of stars. It’s an easy spot to recap the day’s beach finds, plan tomorrow’s adventures, or simply do nothing at all.

From your front door, Rockaway Beach is right there:

• Walk to seven miles of sandy shoreline, tidal pools, and Twin Rocks viewpoints.
• Explore local shops and dining just minutes away.
• Head to Lake Lytle for boating and fishing, or visit the Rockaway Beach Old Growth Cedar Preserve, where an elevated boardwalk leads to the Big Tree, estimated to be 500–900 years old.
• Take a short drive to explore nearby coastal favorites like Manzanita and Cannon Beach, each offering more trails, viewpoints, and small-town charm.

You’ll also be staying in a small piece of Rockaway history: in the early 20th century, this cottage served the community and visiting beachgoers as the original Crab Shack of Rockaway Beach, and it’s now featured in the Western Places book series documenting Oregon’s coastal towns.

Easy Street Cottage lives up to its name - an unfussy, charming cottage that keeps you close to what you came for: the beach, the town, and the slower rhythm of the Oregon coast.
